Preserved deep purple Sweet William, white baby's breath, and dark green fern

Handcrafted for the Bloomist x NYBG collection, three plants are set into each paperweight by skilled artisans in the United Kingdom, each one positioned by hand before the resin sets. Sweet William, baby's breath, and fern fronds are arranged so the whole composition stays open and visible through the pour. The clear polyester resin includes a UV filter to keep the colors from fading over time. Once cured, the globe is polished by hand to a smooth, clear finish.

More than a functional paperweight, it’s a small decorative object that preserves nature’s beauty in lasting form. On a desk, shelf, side table, or bedside table, it brings a small piece of the natural world into daily view while also serving as a weight for papers, notes, and open pages.

The Steere Herbarium at NYBG has preserved plant diversity for more than a century, with specimens drawn from many plant families. This paperweight reflects that same variety as three preserved plants brought together in a single composition.
