EcoFaux Chocolate Cosmos Stem

Cosmos were first discovered in Mexico in the 1800’s and get their name from their color and red velvet cake-like scent. Early to bloom and among the last flowers still standing in the garden before the first frost arrives, these dark red blossoms feature velvety petals and almost black centers. We designed these in collaboration with author / stylist, Hilary Robertson and purposely incorporated realistic details of faded leaves and petals, as well as bug holes to capture nature’s nuance. Combine with Dark Cosmos and Heirloom Roses, and mix with dried and fresh flowers as well as faux botanicals.
Note that stems and flower heads are flexible, and can be cut with strong, heavy-duty clippers. Petals and leaves are made of upcycled fabric from PET plastic bottles, while the stem sand leaf bones are Recycled Polyethylene (rPE). These are assembled by hand from ethical producers in China. This goes into an arrangement that I’m excited about! The whole Bloomist experience has been great!
Just what I’ve been looking for!
In my summer arrangements these Cosmos provided depth amongst the pastels, and in the Halloween arrangements of black, these chocolate lovelies offered a subtle complex range of color.
They are much bigger than I expected, but well made and beautiful. I cut them and arranged them in small bud vases around the house. They especially look great in my Gary Bodker bud vases! Very neutral and soothing.
That's a lovely combination!
These were a nice addition to the heirloom roses.
