Aquilagia vulgaris
A late spring bloomer with dark, moody hues, Black Barlow looks particularly good combined with Chocolate Cosmos and Heirloom Roses. We designed these in collaboration with author / stylist, Hilary Robertson and purposely incorporated realistic details of faded leaves and petals, as well as bug holes to capture nature’s nuance. It can also be mixed with dried and fresh flowers as well as faux botanicals.
The small arrangement shown here features two Black Barlow stems, cut to size. The larger arrangement in the White Buranchi Vase features two stems of Black Barlow, two stems of Chocolate Cosmos and two stems of Dusty Miller, cut to various lengths.
Note that stems and flower heads are flexible, and can be easily cut with strong, heavy-duty clippers. Petals and leaves are made of upcycled fabric from PET plastic bottles, while the stems and leaf bones are bioplastic. These are assembled by hand from ethical producers in China. (Read more)
