Designed by Chris Liljenberg Halstrom for Skagerak the Vent Bench is an evolution of the Vent Stool that was originally designed as a place for museum goers to rest while contemplating art. (Vent is the Danish word for ‘wait’.) Impeccably made using quality materials and Danish craftsmanship the Vent Bench is produced in collaboration with “Blindes Arbejde” (work by the blind), a workshop that helps benefit people who are blind or partially sighted.
The black steel armature frame is made from powder coated steel and ¾” Danish paper cord is woven around the frame. Danish paper cord is made using paper from FSC-certified wood and because it is hand-woven it is more durable and resilient.
Deeply rooted in Scandinavian heritage and craftmanship Skagerak is a family-owned company that produces quality Danish furniture designed to last for generations. Skagerak believes that quality design can only be achieved if an object is made under responsible conditions without harming people or the planet, and in 2017 the company became a B Corp for meeting the highest standards of performance, accountability, and transparency.
