Hand-thrown terracotta artistically designed to shelter birds through the seasons

Part garden art, part functional shelter, this birdhouse is crafted from terracotta clay, kiln-fired, and finished with the Bloomist x NYBG collection’s signature Garden Sage wash. The recessed face helps shield the interior from wind and rain, while the Honduran terracotta naturally helps regulate temperature and moisture within the enclosed nesting space. Drainage holes allow excess moisture to escape, and the 1.5" entrance provides access for common backyard songbirds. Hang it from the attached jute rope or place it on a wrought iron stand (sold separately), making it easy to incorporate into a wide range of garden settings.

Within NYBG’s 50-acre Thain Family Forest, mature trees provide shelter and habitat for birdlife within New York City. Inspired by the relationship between birds and the landscapes they inhabit, this terracotta birdhouse creates a protected place to nest while adding a sculptural clay form to the garden.
