Scattered Pom Pom Wool Quilt

Each pom pom dot on the Scattered Pom Pom Wool Quilt is placed by hand across a flat cream ground, with the spacing judged by eye as the weaving progresses. Wool tassels finish the edge of the quilt. Available in queen and king.

The Atelier and the Technique

The quilt is woven by a group of women artisans who work from their own homes, on foot pedal looms their families have used for generations. Every step is done by hand, beginning with the raw fleece, which is cleaned and spun into yarn before weaving starts. A single quilt takes weeks to complete.

Undyed Wool for a Unique Look

The wool is left entirely undyed, so the cream is the fleece's own color, with no dye or chemical treatment at any stage. That leaves each quilt a little different in tone from the next.

Meet the Maker

These pieces are made in women-led, family-run studios across the American Southwest and central Mexico, where foot-pedal loom weaving has been the primary craft for generations. Each piece is physically woven in the mountain communities of central Mexico by hand using natural wool sourced and spun locally, with no synthetic fibers and no dyes introduced at any point in the process. The weavers bring years of daily practice to each piece, the techniques passed within families rather than learned from instruction. What arrives is the work of one set of hands, from raw fiber to finished textile.

Product Care

Hand wash in room temperature water, neutral soap, carefully remove excess water, and lay flat to dry in the shade.
