Origanum vulgare
Part of the ornamental Oregano family, this beautiful blooming plant is equal parts herb and flower producing bushy dark green stems and leaves and wands of burgundy-pink blossoms and in late summer and fall. Popular with butterflies and beneficial insects in the garden, Oregano flowers hold their color beautifully when dried and look striking alone or mixed with dried botanicals in complementary colors and textures.

We freshened up the dried flowers hanging over the Queen Bed at the Cabin with this beautiful bunch of Blooming Oregano. The Oregano came quickly and was well packed. After “fluffing” the bunch was full and has a lovely smell.

These flowers pair perfectly with a couple of others I placed in an entry hall, all from Bloomist. Other dried flowers were brittle and less easy to arrange , making these the perfect choice for a more trafficked area!
