Care: Wipe the blade with a soft cloth, then oil with vegetable or machine oil to prevent rust.
We chose to bring you these specific Japanese tools because we admire the maker’s 70+ years of expertise, extraordinary craftsmanship, and use of high-quality materials. Family owned since 1950, Asano Mokkousho was born of the union between Teisuke Asano, a farmer’s son, and his wife, Sakae Sasagawa, daughter of a Tokyo manufacturer. Asano wanted to make farmers’ lives easier by designing and crafting high-quality tools while city dweller Sakae wanted to share her love of nature. They melded their rural and metropolitan values and together founded Asano Mokkousho. Seven decades later the company exports a broad range of authentic Japanese gardening tools all over the world. Designers and human engineers continuously refine the company’s original designs to reflect the needs of the user, ensuring each tool is as comfortable to use as it is efficient. (Read more)

A Christmas gift
I always wanted to splurge on a good pair of pruning shears but always somehow did not. I’m older now and my hands are not as strong and these are so wonderful they make up for that. Why did I wait so long? LOL they are super sharp and easy to use
Wow! Decided to spend a little extra based on web reviews of Japanese made pruning shears and worth every penny. Great fit in hand, precise cutting and smooth motion yield a very clean cut. And super happy with Bloomist’s speed in shipping.
Beautifully made, solid construction yet light in the hand, and very effective.
