Broad, rippled folds rise around a deep center in this large Rare Wood Flower, a natural wood sculpture formed as it grows on mature trees in Guatemala. Often called “tree ears,” these naturally occurring forms develop with irregular edges, layered grain, and deep contours. No two grow alike, giving every piece a different silhouette and surface.
Give this larger wood flower sculpture room on a console or low table, where its folded edges and deep center can be seen from several angles. For wood flower arrangements with more variation in form, place it near our smaller Rare Wood Flowers, allowing their individual shapes and natural folds to read as a collected grouping.
After harvest, each wood flower is scrubbed free of moss and lichens, remaining bark is removed, and the piece is left to dry in the sun for several weeks. This preparation reveals the wood beneath while retaining the contours created during growth, giving each organic wood sculpture its own depth and profile.
Sold individually. Each wood flower varies naturally in shape and size; some retain a stem while others are primarily the flower head.

"I recently purchased 3 large wood flowers as a gift for a friend. The bad news is that they are so interesting they will remain on my mantle and the friend must wait. Mother Nature is obviously an amazing sculptor, since the first reaction when someone sees them inevitably is “Who made these?"
