Kenzan Floral Frog for Ikebana Arranging

A rectangle of stainless steel pins, the Kenzan Rectangle Flower Frog anchors at the base of a vase or shallow vessel. It holds stems in place at any angle. At 2.4" x 0.75", the pin bed is dense enough to hold a single stem or a full arrangement.

How to Use It

Cut the stem to length and press it onto the pins where you want it. The pins grip the stem. Water travels up through the cut end, extending the life of the arrangement. For fresh stems, place the kenzan in a shallow tray filled with water. It also works as a candle holder, the pins gripping a taper directly for a low, stable base. Browse the Ikebana + Frogs collection or pair with the Japanese Ikebana Scissors for a complete ikebana setup.

The Kenzan Tradition

The kenzan is the foundation tool of ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging. In ikebana, the kenzan is what gives each stem a precise and intentional placement. A single kenzan lasts indefinitely with proper care. Rinse after use and straighten bent pins with a flat tool.
