These fringed, chunky soft throws are woven by a small Irish company on vintage looms. Colors inspired by nature, these timeless herringbone designs are a cuddly classic; perfect as a luxuriously cozy blanket for curling up on the sofa or placed at the foot of the bed.

Woven in Ireland on antique looms dating from the 1800's these are crafted from fine merino lambswool, with a super soft luster of cashmere. These are truly heirloom pieces meant to be enjoyed for many generations.

Many of the blankets are made by small companies, some on antique looms in Maine, as well as in the UK, Ireland and Peru with an understated sophistication and a timeless quality that expresses both function and elegance.

When his world travels as a textile industry professional exposed him to the beauty and craft of handmade textiles, Evangeline founder Ben Ray had no choice but to return home with his family to Portland and bring them to the world.

He founded the company born from love for his native Maine, and named it after fellow Portland native, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem, Evangeline.
