Each of our Terracotta Birdhouses is individually thrown on a potter’s wheel, kiln-fired, and cold-finished by hand, so no two are exactly alike. Crafted from locally sourced clay, these birdhouses weather beautifully and develop a beautiful patina over time. On the underside, you’ll find the maker’s initials pressed into the clay—a small signature of the craft and care behind each birdhouse.

How a Terracotta Birdhouse Creates Healthier Habitats

Terracotta clay regulates temperature and moisture naturally, creating a healthier nesting environment than plastic or metal alternatives. The recessed face shields birds from wind and rain, while drainage holes prevent harmful moisture buildup. The 1.5" diameter entrance welcomes common backyard songbirds, including chickadees, wrens, nuthatches, bluebirds, tree swallows, and tufted titmice. At approximately 5 pounds, it mounts best with secure, sturdy support, ensuring both stability and durability to last through the seasons.
