Hand-thrown in Honduran terracotta clay, finished by hand in Garden Sage

Part of the Bloomist x NYBG collection, this bird feeder is made in small batches in Honduras using locally sourced terracotta clay. Its rounded form features three openings that give visiting birds easy access to seed from multiple sides. A small hole beneath the front opening lets you add a natural perch by inserting a small stick of your choosing. Hang it from the attached jute rope, or place it on a wrought iron stand (sold separately) for easy placement across gardens, patios, terraces, and other outdoor spaces. The collection’s signature Garden Sage wash is applied by our artisans with natural variations in the clay and finish making each piece distinct.

Birdlife is part of the changing landscape of the New York Botanical Garden—and part of the larger experience of noticing nature throughout New York City. Inspired by that connection, this feeder creates a place to observe the visitors that pass through and return with the seasons. Pair it with the coordinating Bloomist x NYBG Bird Bath and Birdhouse to create a connected setting for feeding, shelter, and water. Made in limited quantities for the Bloomist x NYBG collection.

Meet the Maker

The Bloomist x New York Botanical Garden collection is an exclusive assortment of nature-inspired and handmade goods designed for the home, the garden, and the everyday. This collaboration brings together two brands that have long shared the same belief: the natural world deserves our care, our craft, and our attention.

Bloomist is a home and garden shop with a mission to “make nature home,” offering live and dried botanicals, artisan planters, handmade textiles and decor, kitchen and pantry goods, outdoor living essentials, and small-batch bath and body products rooted in natural materials and craftsmanship.

The New York Botanical Garden has spent more than a century at the forefront of plant science, horticulture, and education, with 250 acres in the Bronx and a research footprint that reaches around the world.

Bloomist x NYBG is a celebration of beautiful products with purpose—a limited collection that includes terracotta planters, orchid pots, garden tools, watering cans, gardener’s soaps, home goods, and more.

A portion of proceeds supports NYBG's plant research and conservation, horticulture, and education programs. NYBG® is a registered trademark of The New York Botanical Garden.

Product Care

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Bring indoors before freezing temperatures to prevent cracking.

Drainage Hole: This hole allows rainwater to escape when used in exposed locations. If you’re using seed that falls through the hole, or if drainage isn’t needed, simply plug with a small stick.

Hanging + Placement: Hang from a sturdy branch or hook, or place in our wrought iron stand (sold separately), ideally in a sheltered spot away from strong winds.
