WE’RE STRIVING TO GET GREENER EVERY DAY
Bloomist is studiously working with our suppliers to find eco-safe packaging materials that are more in line with our mission. Legislative restrictions on fossil fuel-based materials like (EPS) Styrofoam are rapidly increasing, which means more sustainable solutions are being developed and will hopefully be available to us soon. In the interest of not generating additional waste, some of our products are shipped in their original vendor packaging. Please recycle responsibly and follow these guidelines for safe disposal of all our packaging materials.
RECYCLING GUIDELINES
EPS /Styrofoam
DO NOT BURN. EPS is highly flammable and contains a carcinogen, benzene.
Cardboard and Paper
Most paper products can be placed in a curbside recycling bin. Plastic film
aka Plastic film packaging (PE) and Bubble wrap, aka LDPE are both made from a synthetic resin.
Plastic film can be recycled to make composite lumber for decks, benches, and playground sets.
It can also be reprocessed into small pellets, which can be made into new bags, pallets,
containers, crates, and pipe.
Tissue Paper
Tissue paper is made from recycled paper, so the fibers are shortened to the point where it cannot feasibly go through the recycling process again. In some cases, tissue paper can be composted. Rubber Bands
Rubber bands are not recyclable. Technically rubber bands are compostable, however rubber takes a long time to break down or biodegrade. Bloomist suggests reusing. |
