Alex Gibson of Sien + Co. travels to the highlands of Peru and the dry forests of Argentina to source the best organic sheep’s wool for these soft, shaggy, handmade pillows. The wool is hand spun and dyed with natural pigments and minerals before being woven on looms by women in rural communities who have inherited and preserved this ancient crafting tradition.
Founded in 2016 by Utah native Alexandra Gibson, Sien + Co. works with artisan groups in Peru and Argentina to create sustainably made, ethically produced home wares for the global market. During a trip to Kathmandu, Alexandra and her then 4-year old daughter stumbled upon a cooperative of Nepali women artisans, and after a week spent observing their craft and hearing their stories, Alexandra quit her job in Silicon Valley to follow her new passion for artisan made textiles. Product Care
Never put your wool pillows in the washing machine or dryer. Spot clean carefully as needed or handwash in cold water with liquid wool or delicate detergent. Roll up pillow in a towel to soak up the excess water and gently squeeze out excess water and lie flat in the shade to dry.
Our pillows are now available to purchase with or without our premium down inserts. We think this is better for you and the planet - we recognize not everyone wants or needs an insert. As a result they will ship without being pre-stuffed, so please show them a little love and stuff them when they arrive.
Please note all inserts are sized up an extra 2" for a super cozy + full fit.
