Hand-forged in Tsubame-Sanjo, a region of Japan that has shaped blade craft for centuries, these Japanese pruning shears are built from stainless steel chosen for its edge and rust resistance. The grip is designed around one principle: that force from the hand should travel directly to the blade, cleanly, on every cut.

Made in collaboration with Asano, the shears move through thick branches and delicate stems with the same clean result. Rieko Asano, granddaughter of the founders, describes it this way: "When we make our shears, we are considering three elements to make people happy when enjoying gardening and ikebana: the blade sharpness and smoothness, the shape of the handle that considers the user, and a shaft that reliably conveys the gripping force."
