Fine coffee brown grid lines cross an ivory ground on the Floyd Throw Pillow, woven from 100% naturally colored baby alpaca. The ivory and coffee tones come entirely from the raw fleece, both colors present in the fiber before processing. At 2.9 lbs with the insert, the baby alpaca loft sits full and even across the face.
The grid is built into the baby alpaca during weaving, giving each line a slight irregularity inherent in the fiber itself. The pattern covers the full face in an even square repeat, fine enough to read as texture from across the room, resolving into a defined grid on close inspection. The double-sided construction means either face works as the front.
Baby alpaca is shorn humanely each spring from the underside and neck of the animal, where the fiber is finest and softest. The fleece takes a full year to regrow before the next shearing cycle. After harvest, the fiber is sorted by color and micron at the spinning facility before being spun into yarn and woven in Peru. The same micro grid runs across the Floyd Reversible Throw at 53" x 70".
