For Evenings Spent Outside

Hang this citronella incense coil outdoors, light one end, and let it burn slowly for up to 36 hours, filling the air with a warm, floral scent that lingers over a porch dinner, a backyard gathering, or a quiet stretch on the patio. Citronella oil does the practical work here: a natural insect repellent that's non-toxic to people and pets, so the evening stays about the company, not the bugs.

Citronella grass itself has traveled a long way to get here. Native to Southeast Asia, it now grows throughout the tropics and has been used for generations to keep insects at bay. This coil is a small, straightforward way to bring that into your own outdoor space.

Please note: The Standard 5-Pack in Tan is currently out of stock and expected to return in mid 2027.

ABOUT FREDERICKS & MAE

Fredericks & Mae is helmed by Gabriel Fredericks Cohen and Giovi Mae Signorile. The two met through a shared love of materials. Fredericks & Mae started in the piles of feathers, thread, gold and paper that filled their first studio in 2007.

Fredericks & Mae is a design studio reveling in the art of the gift. They are committed to bringing objects into the world that prompt wide eyes, inexplicable delight, and full body chills. A well chosen gift can be a bolt of connection - a beacon that reminds us of our relationships. We are ever-vigilant for the commodification of joy and the dangers of material accumulation - but love to surround ourselves with a few well chosen beautiful things. Every mantle is an altar, each shelf a shrine, a coffee table a collection of things that tell a story about where we come from and where we want to go.

Product Care

Keep the coil dry. It's fragile once wet and won't hold up to rain, submersion, or long stretches left outside uncovered. Bring it in or under cover between uses.
