Autumn Paper Hydrangea

Faded rose, russet, muted green, and earthy brown move across the clustered florets of the Autumn Hydrangea. The uneven coloring recalls a hydrangea late in the season, as brighter summer tones deepen and fade. Layered florets gather into a rounded head, giving the paper hydrangea its full, textural form. Presented on a mouth-blown glass stand, it stands approximately 15.75 inches tall.

A Study in Autumn Color

The Autumn Hydrangea can stand on its own on a shelf or console, where the mouth-blown glass base keeps the focus on the flower. For a fuller display, place it near muted stems and foliage from our Seasonal Blooms, letting their varied forms extend the autumn palette. Made One Flower at a Time

Each hydrangea is handcrafted in an East London studio from FSC-certified paper, hand-dyed before the individual petals are formed and assembled into the clustered head. Beeswax and green tea wax finish the paper, while botanical essential oils give the flower a light scent. As with all handwork, expect small variations in color, form, and finish from piece to piece.

Meet the Maker

Each piece is handcrafted by artisans working with hand-dyed paper and natural wax. Using traditional wax-dipping techniques, the paper petals, stems, and leaves are carefully coated in beeswax to preserve their form and add subtle fragrance. The materials guide the process—selected for tactile quality, versatility, and the ability to be reshaped and adapted.

Beeswax comes from UK and European beekeepers as a by-product of honey production. Plant-based waxes and essential oils—green tea, orange peel, sunflower, rose, jasmine—are sourced from the food, beverage, and perfumery industries.

Because natural wax can be reused and reworked, these artisans center their approach on material exploration and responsible sourcing that supports ongoing making.

Product Care

Keep away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Dust gently with a soft, dry brush. The natural fragrance will gradually soften over time.
