Itza Wood was founded by Suzanne Bararczy and Eliza Bararczy with a simple mission: to break the poverty cycle in the Peten region of Guatemala. The company funds various social initiatives – including employment and education - that help enhance local economic growth. “We put people and our planet first providing craftsmen with favorable work environments and wages,” explains Eliza.
In order to deepen the company’s commitment to one of nature’s most lush, beautiful treasures, Itza’s reforestation initiative planted 45,000 trees in the heart of Guatemala’s Peten jungle. (Read more)
