These large scale unglazed ceramic planters were collected by our antique dealer in China and vetted and curated by us before making their journey west. Originally intended for functional uses this gray vase is naturally weathered by the elements and has a matte aged patina with a simple rolled rim.  Use it alone as a striking centerpiece bowl with an arrangement of greenery or mounded with moss on a hallway table. Use it on a bookshelf or sideboard  with artisan beads or dried elements of nature or a small piece of tumbleweed. 

We love these used the garden and planted with your favorite ferns, but be sure to bring inside before the danger of frost. If used as a planter , add a layer of pebbles before planting as there isn't a drainage hole. If using indoors as a planter, be sure to add a protection from a damp bottom if placing on a delicate surface - lining with foil can also help prevent any rings. 

 The ceramic pots are unglazed and therefore neither waterproof nor frost-proof if using outdoors as planters. Because they are vintage, each gray vase is unique, though similar in shape and size as shown, their finish ranges from light grey to dark and some (very few) are closer to black as shown in our images.
