Easy on the eyes, and alluring to the touch, the Icon Reversible Throw, an impactful creative masterpiece created in collaboration with artist John Zabawa, creates an unforgettable extrasensory experience in every space.

Inspired by the imperfections of raw stone and the curved lines of sculpture, we explore architecture and design in a blanket.

These soft, substantial throws are made from 100% recycled factory off-cuts that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. Fibers are shredded, spun into yarn, and then rewoven into beautiful new pieces with meaning and soul. Crafted primarily from baby alpaca, these are truly heirloom pieces meant to be enjoyed for generations. Alpaca fleece is famous for being hypoallergenic, which means it doesn’t scratch or prickle the skin like wool products do. Alpaca fiber doesn’t contain Lanolin, an oil generated by sheep, (wool), that can be very irritating on the skin.

This throw transforms into art when paired with their Art Series Wall Mount.

ABOUT BLACKSAW

During a motorcycle trip into the Andean mountain range in South America, Steph and Kyle Taylor discovered the region’s beautiful alpaca fiber and hatched the idea of building a sustainable business around it. They named their company Blacksaw. The company’s goal was to create “meaningful possessions” from eco-friendly, sustainable materials; long-lasting, timeless pieces that are worthy of taking up space in your life. 

An Alpaca throw can last for decades, but its greatest enemies are moths and other pests.  If you need to put it away during warmer months, dry clean it first, then store it with insect repelling cedar chips or lavender bundles. Do not store in a plastic bag or dry cleaning bag as this will allow moisture to build up and fibers to felt. Light and airy spaces are highly recommended. All BLACKSAW blankets ship with a cotton canvas drawstring bag for safe storage.

Alpaca fibers are naturally odor, stain and wrinkle resistant which means they can go a long way between cleaning. We encourage you to hang your Alpaca blanket outside, avoiding direct sunlight, to air it out occasionally as dry cleaning is not good for the environment. When you do need to clean your Alpaca throw, please read the care instructions first or dry clean only.

Siempre Throw, Black Stripe - Perfection

I hesitated on ordering because these blankets are on the pricy side, but I finally took the plunge and I'm so happy I did! I love this blanket so much! It looks beautiful on our couch and really stands out in our family room. Lot's of compliments. GREAT PURCHASE.

Show Stopper!

I first saw this throw in a CB2 showroom and was instantly drawn to it. The simple design is elevated by the rich Alpaca texture. More than a very nice throw, this piece is like a work of art.
