Araucaria heterophylla
The much beloved Norfolk Island Pine comes from Norfolk Island near New Zealand and grows to around 200 feet tall. During the holiday season residents in South Pacific countries transform these prized pines into “living Christmas trees” ablaze with lights and ornaments. Our highly convincing version of the living Christmas tree is more minimal. Stripped down to its roots (literally) our Norfolk Pine is designed to be displayed in a European Recycled Glass Jar.
Add rocks or beach stones to make it even more realistic; all the better to show off the roots. It’s also designed to be brought back every year. Display it on a dining table or console, or even a kitchen counter for the holidays and way beyond. Equally at home after the holidays as a sculptural winter accent.
Note that stems are flexible, and can be easily cut with strong, heavy-duty clippers. These are assembled by hand from ethical producers in China. Learn more about how our EcoFaux™ botanicals help break free of the Petro-chemical cycle in our Journal article here.
