Naturally weathered and aged by time these rustic vintage elmwood stools were collected by our antiques dealer in China and curated and vetted by us. They were made the traditional way with wooden joinery instead of with glue, nails, or screws, and were originally used as casual seats in shops and also as working stools outdoors on rural farms. Owners would often make ingenious repairs to extend the life and usefulness of these humble stools and some have evidence of these caring mends. Today these one-of-a-kind pieces do double duty working as spontaneous seats and/or accent side tables as well as plant stands. They’re also handy as an extra surface to place a drink.
As is inherent with handmade vintage goods, no two stools are the same. Some have 3 legs while others have 4.
