Monstera deliciosa, Split-Leaf Philodendron

This lush, tropical kokedama is prized for its unique split leaf foliage and easygoing nature. It loves bright light but is also more than happy in partially shaded areas.

Kokedamas are an ancient form of Japanese Bonsai that dates to around 1600 AD. These living planters are made with moss, soil, twine, and a plant. They have a sunny disposition and are low maintenance.

Kokedama plants come with a Tray for Basic Planter, Grey Patina or a White Patina Tray for Basic Planter. They also pair well with our Wrought Iron Planter Stand in Small, sold separately here as well as our Granite Stands and Terra Cotta Planters.

Please note that the plants you receive may be smaller and less mature than the ones photographed. They will be eager for growth in their new home!

Showstopper Plant!!

"My Monstera Kokedama is stunning! This was my first time ordering a live plant and I was pleased to see it packaged so carefully. It arrived about two weeks ago and I wanted to make sure it survived before writing a review. I am happy to say it is thriving and has grown four new leaves since I received it. This plant is so unique and gets compliments from everyone. Bloomist, thank you for offering items that are out of the ordinary!"

Q&A

Is there a point at which you should plant it in a pot? I bought one in June (7 mos ago) & it is thriving! It has tons of growth all flowing in one beautiful direction. Not sure if it’s time to put into soil?
Great question! There are two things to look for, the first is, if the root structure of the Monstera is growing out of the bottom of the ball, or if it is so big that the top growth is making the balls fall over. If the former, then I would suggest that you simply dropped the ball into a pot of soil and fill it up to the half an inch before the top of the ball, if the latter, you may want to do the same thing in order to stabilize the growth in the ball from falling over. If neither of these are applicable, then I think you can let the plant continue to grow in the Moss ball. I hope this makes sense, but please let me know if you have any additional questions.
