We worked closely with our antique dealer to curate a collection of these charming low, vintage elm wood stools. They were originally used in the gardens of China for the planting and harvesting of rice and vegetables. It would also have been common for them to be taken along while traveling. Use them as stands for potted plants or to display sculptures and objects.
Each stool features unique markings and range in natural tones, some may show also signs of repair and mending.

antique Chinese stool
this stool is quite versatile. I had it in my kitten with a potted plant on the top.. then moved it in my family room stacked with some coffee table books. Looks just like it does in the photo.
Better than expected. So much I actually bought another one. They both are very different, but have lots of character and the quality is top notch.
I use this to hold my kokedama and it’s just perfect.
Love it. I ordered a medium and it measures to be a small - so heads up
We love this stool. It’s perfect in our meditation room - simple, organic, and lovely.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing.
What a unique piece!
This piece is so cute and unique. My one critique (which is very minor) is that one of the legs is loose, and I can’t tell if it’s just because of the age. I will obviously not be putting any real weight on this stool and it’s mainly for show, but that was the only flaw! It will look so cute in my bathroom with a potted plant and a towel draped over it. Fast shipping and great service.
