In this timely and motivational guide, author and friend of Bloomist’s, Julia Watkins shares rituals, recipes, and projects for living simply and sustainably at home. For every area of your household—kitchen, cleaning, wellness, bath, and garden—Julia shows you how to eliminate wasteful packaging, harmful ingredients, and disposable items. A beautiful and inspiring books from one of favorite experts on this topic.
Julia is the writer and photographer behind the Instagram account @simply.living.well, where she shares about living simply, slowly, and sustainably. In her book, Simply Living Well: A Guide to Creating a Natural, Low-Waste Home, she pays homage to the ways our grandparents solved all manner of problems - from feeding their families, tending to their health, cleaning their homes, and caring for their minds, bodies, and spirits.
In 2016, Julia and her husband Scott co-founded Lookfar Conservation, a nonprofit that supports conservation and restoration projects in Africa and Latin America. Although her professional background is in conservation, she’s spent the past several years integrating the values of sustainability into her personal life - at home. On a good day, you can find her in her kitchen experimenting with new recipes and remedies, in her art room crafting with her children, or in her garden growing veggies, herbs, and edible flowers.
