This simple custom-made porcelain vase has a tactile stucco-like finish and is glazed clear inside and outside to highlight the natural texture and beauty of the porcelain. The stucco texture is achieved by applying soft squishy slip with a palette knife. This piece is then cast in plaster and poured with porcelain slip to make small batches of vases. As is inherent with handmade pieces each vase is completely unique and natural variations will occur.
Porcelain is the strongest of the clay bodies, chip resistant and impervious to liquids making it ideal for everyday use. There will be variation in color and size. No two pieces will be alike.
